How Stress Is Stored In The Body~ What Your Mind Moves Past
Yet somewhere along the way, your body adapted to help you do exactly that.
A breath that became a little shallower. A ...jaw that learned to brace. A shoulder carrying tension you barely notice anymore. A familiar pain that comes and goes. An emotional response that feels bigger than the moment in front of you.
We can become so accustomed to these patterns that they simply become part of how we move through the world.
And this is where my curiosity comes alive.
As a Somatic Performance Coach, I’m listening beneath what someone tells me is happening.
Where do they feel it? What sensations are present? What happens when they bring awareness there and give it space?
Because the body has been part of the experience all along.
What has your body been adapting to while your mind has been busy moving forward?
For this Living With Intention LIVE, I’m bringing together two masters of working with the brain and body, each with decades of experience and a very different lens.
Dr. Satya Sardonicus brings science together with the lived experience of the body. Through her NeuroFascial Flow® Method, her work explores neuroscience, somatic healing, and how our bodies adapt to what we experience.
Nisarga Dobosz has been listening to the body through touch since 1998. As a member of the Myofascial Energetic Release (MER®) faculty, his experience spans bodywork, breathwork, movement, Compassionate Inquiry, Biodynamic Breathwork, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. What I especially connect with is his trust in the body’s innate capacity for self-regulation and healing.
I cannot wait to put these two perspectives in the same room.
We’re going to explore:
• What does the body hold onto after the mind says, “I’m past it”?
• Why can tension become so familiar that we stop realizing we’re carrying it?
• When does pain become more than a physical conversation?
• What have decades of working with the brain and body taught Satya and Nisarga about healing?
• What becomes possible when we recognize the signals and give the body space to respond?
This isn’t a conversation about fixing the body.
It’s about becoming curious enough to feel, listen, and recognize what your body may have been communicating all along.Show More
